Now, imagine finally finding a safe place to call home. Imagine what it’s like to not only have an apartment of your own, but onsite supports that will help you do more than survive. They will help you thrive.
That’s the difference that our Supportive Housing and Community Hub on Charles can make for people.
Our new Supportive Housing and Community Hub on Charles will provide 72 new homes AND a community hub of on-site supports for all 150 affordable and supportive housing tenants living on our Charles Street housing campus at the corner of Charles and Eby Streets in downtown Kitchener.
You can be part of this incredible vision to help individuals in Waterloo Region exit the cycle of homelessness for good!

“It’s just so good to have someone to talk to, to get some of the tough stuff out, so you can kind of function the next few days. It makes a difference to know someone is there to support you, that you aren’t alone.”
– Denise, Supportive Housing resident, after spending one year living in a shelter with her son, Majesti.
“Living at House of Friendship Supportive Housing really builds a strong community. And community is the one thing that has made the most difference for me, because that’s how you keep going.”
– Peter, Supportive Housing resident, living with bipolar disorder
