The RAAM Team

Admin

The Administrative Assistant plays an integral role on the team as the central point of contact for our participants and community members seeking information on RAAM services. Individuals who are accessing the RAAM will work with the clinic’s Administrative Assistant to book and/or reschedule appointments, answer questions about our services and explain our clinic processes.

Peer

Each clinic is staffed with one Peer Worker who identifies as having personal lived experience with addiction and recovery. Peers intentionally share their lived experience as a means of providing support and connecting with others experiencing similar challenges. Peer Workers help participants feel safe, welcomed and supported while individuals are accessing services. Peer Workers are available for ongoing individual support and can help to connect the participant to community resources while accessing RAAM services.

Addiction Counsellor

Addiction Counsellors meet with participants to complete their initial assessment when accessing the clinic for the first time. Addiction Counsellors offer trauma-informed care, provide brief solution-focused counselling, provide referrals or links to community resources and long-term support based on the individual unique needs and recovery goals.

Medical Provider

Nurse Practitioners at RAAM clinics work to diagnose substance use disorders, initiate pharmacotherapy as indicated, and provide harm reduction or abstinence-based interventions and education according to each participant’s goals.  Nurse Practitioners within the RAAM clinic will work to support individuals with their treatment goals until they are stable and able to transition back to their primary medical care provider.
