Addiction is Close To Home for many Canadians, with 1 in 4 personally impacted by it – not to mention the many lives impacted daily by the growing nation-wide opioid crisis.
How we respond as a community in the midst of this crisis matters. We can approach it with caring, compassion and knowledge – accepting that addiction must be treated like any other significant healthcare issue. Or we could turn a blind eye, and continue to see the crisis grow.
After a brief business meeting, our program will focus on Addiction – A Health Issue, our updated plans to rebuild our addiction treatment centre in Cambridge, and an overview of the range of addiction treatment services provided by House of Friendship throughout Waterloo Region. Of course, the evening is not complete without our traditional time of connection and fellowship at our Strawberry Social!
