You can be part of something incredible, by adopting a room in the innovative ShelterCare program!

ShelterCare provides 24/7 shelter, along with onsite health care and addiction support. Here, 100 men in the program are experiencing the wraparound supports that address the root causes of homelessness, getting healthier and housed – for good!

Being in the shelter system has always been an experience where I felt “two feet tall” and I was not able to carry hope for my future – there was nothing to look forward to. Since coming here, I have been able to take time to work on myself without the pressures of having to move on quickly. I can focus on healing until I’m strong enough to leave. The staff here have been so impactful in my life. I am excited to learn to trust again after being “let down and begging for help” for so long, and now being able to receive real care.

This transformational work is having an impact, but also requires significant investment, and that’s why men experiencing homelessness need you more than ever! There is a significant gap between the funding provided by various levels of government and the actual cost to run the program. And without these critical funds, we may have to turn men away into the cold.

This exciting, impactful solution is our ShelterCare “Adopt-A-Room” program, where businesses, service clubs and churches and faith communities can ‘adopt-a-room’ to help ShelterCare participants receive the critical services and supports they need to start again.

365 days of rest

By adopting a room for a year, you and your community are making it possible for all those who will find warmth and safety in this room over the next year to have “365 days of rest”:

  1. 1,095 hot, nutritious meals
  2. A real bed, with clean sheets and warm comforters
  3. Support to find housing and become housing-ready
  4. On-site access to medical supports like nurse practitioners, a physician, and other certified medical professionals
  5. Help to obtain personal identification documents to get steady work
