More Beds For Addiction Treatment Centre

Addiction Services Director Tara Groves-Taylor and Executive Director John Neufeld welcomed Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Michael Tibollo, for a major funding announcement.

Today, we welcomed Michael Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, to our Men’s Residential Addiction Treatment Centre in Cambridge, where he announced an incredible $90-million investment in addiction treatment throughout the province of Ontario!

As part of that $90 million, House of Friendship will receive $584,000 over the next three years, allowing us to add four new treatment beds at our Cambridge location.

“Today’s funding announcement is about so much more than additional beds for residential addiction treatment in Waterloo Region,” said Addiction Services Director Tara Groves-Taylor. “It’s about lives that are going to be made better as a result. Knowing that the support we’re receiving today is also part of a larger plan to provide more addiction treatment options throughout the province is even better. We know and have seen that the need is great, and continues to grow. With this funding, we also know there will be help – and that is incredible news.”
