Rotary Turkey Drive raises record amount!

Turkey Truck volunteers Abby, Jim, Linda and Oliver were among 600 volunteers who helped make Christmas special for local families.

The Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club’s 2017 Turkey Drive was a great success, with community members joining together to make Christmas special for local families.

A record amount of $380,000 was raisedĀ for the 2017 Turkey Drive – exceeding the $375,000 target! This money is used to buy turkeys and food for House of Friendship’s hamper program.

Since the beginning of the Turkey Drive in 2007, Rotary Club members have, with the support of the community, raised approximately $3 million in support of House of Friendship’s Christmas Hamper program, including $1 million in just the past three years.

This past Christmas, more than 600 volunteers helped pack and distribute close to 4,000 hampers and 3,600 turkeys for more than 12,000 people in our community.
