At House of Friendship, we are dedicated to providing high-quality care and supporting you to achieve your goals. To do this well, we have set out some rights and responsibilities:
Your Rights:
- You have the right to be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity.
- You should receive support that is fair, timely, and without judgment.
- You will receive communication that is clear and easy to understand to the best of our ability.
- You will be treated as a whole person with unique needs and feel welcomed.
- You have the right to experience a safe environment and services that are free from harm.
- Your privacy will be respected. We will only share your information with your permission and as required by privacy laws.
- You can agree to decisions about your care and can choose to stop supports at any time.
- You have the right to be informed about things that directly affect you or your supports.
- You are encouraged to share your thoughts, including concerns, suggestions, or compliments.
Your Responsibilities:
- Treat staff, volunteers, other participants, and anyone at House of Friendship with respect; violence, discrimination or abuse will not be tolerated.
- Ask questions if you don’t understand something.
- Respect the privacy of others.
- Follow the guidelines and expectations of the program.
- Follow safety procedures to keep everyone safe.
- Take part in your own care and be responsible for the decisions you make regarding the support you receive.
